In a bizarre partnership that breaks usual forecasts, Ubisoft has announced an digital partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, offering free additional story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Questline Revealed
According to the authorized statement, "A mysterious encounter draws heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a original mission, where whispers of prohibited rituals and terrifying changes reverberate through the darkness." The narrative presents a "unusually dressed woman named Ada" who tasks the pair with traveling into the Crystalline Cavern—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her friend from a clandestine sect.
The adventure centers on "bizarre experiments and a monstrous foe" and is open to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Settings and Transformations
The preview features the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This important location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The teaser ends with a striking scene showing a character, probably the captive, changing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Prizes and Additional Material
Players who finish the adventure will obtain an unique katana alongside multiple items secreted throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also features premium Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-themed outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe

Newest Free Story Addition
This patch also brings the game's third free story addition, titled "A Puzzlement." This lighthearted adventure pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they swap distinctive techniques: Naoe reveals a performative version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-lethal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "A Puzzlement" also features a fresh environmental puzzle that may finally shed light on some lingering questions from the main storyline.

The series previously showcased a 2020 crossover story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
